Tahaddi, meaning "challenge" in Arabic, is a Lebanese non-governmental organization offering holistic, community-based support to families facing extreme poverty in the informal settlement of Hay el Gharbeh in southern Beirut. It facilitates a range of education, health, and psychosocial interventions that prioritize vulnerable Lebanese families, as well as displaced people, victims of conflict and discrimination, migrants, and other stateless populations. Services are provided irrespective of nationality, religion, or social background. Tahaddi has a longstanding history of advocating for the Dom community to provide access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. This includes legal aid services that assist individuals and families to secure their identification documents and actualize their basic human rights.
